While all Bathroom Butler heated towel racks are designed to run 24/7, it is not necessary to do so for the purpose of drying damp bath towels, and and adding a touch of warmth. The average damp bath towel will take about 4 to 5 hours to dry on one of our electric towel racks. Thanks to the benefit of DET, namely RAPID Heating where the heated towel rack reaches optimum working temperature after 10-15mins of being switched on, it is efficient to switch it on and only run it for the required towel drying duration and by doing so can reduce the electricity consumption by up to 75% when used in conjunction with the PTSelect Switch. Furthermore, only having the heated towel rack on for this amount of time only, will also extend the life of the heating element. To ensure the towels properly and quickly it s also important to fold your towel twice, creating 4 layers, before hanging it over the towel rail.
Heated Towel Rack compatibility: All Bathroom Butler heated towel racks with PTSelect Switch
Method of connection to Heated Towel Rack: The KASA Wi-Fi Switch is installed independently on the wall and connected to the heated towel rack through the electrical wiring, similar to the principle of a light and a light switch
Installing the KASA Wi-Fi Smart Switch: The KASA Wi-Fi Smart switch is installed like a standard light switch would be on the wall near the heated towel rack. The heated towel rack is then wired through this switch to electrical mains power. For more detailed instructions see the KASA instruction video.
Heating and Drying Times:
- Heated Towel Rack to Heat-Up: 10 – 15 mins
- To add a touch of warmth to a dry towel: 30 – 45 mins (when folded correctly in four layers)
- To dry an average used, damp towel: 4 – 5 hours (when folded correctly in four layers)
